Wine Tours are a great opportunity to really get a look at a winery. They are a snapshot of the winery activities for that time of year. Some tours go in to the production areas, and others do not. Do a little research on what the tour includes.

Wine Tours take time. You need to plan for them in your day and generally they are by appointment. The tour usually includes a tasting and the combination of tour and tasting can take a couple of hours. So… if you want to visit several wineries in one day then maybe don’t try to do more than one tour in a day.
Tours are educational experiences and if that sounds like fun… then do it. I love an opportunity to see wineries, and learn about their process. If it sounds tedious then it probably isn’t the right choice for you. If you have the time, and the interest, a wine tour can be a great opportunity to learn more about wine, and probably some history of the winery too.
